South Australia, condition of south-central Australia. It occupies one of the driest, most barren aspects of the continent, but its southern fringe is made up of nicely-watered and fertile lands and it is where by many of the population is found. It is bounded by Western Australia into the west, the Northern Territory into the north, Queensland for
